A top tool - Word of Mouth
A top way to market your school or church is by Word of Mouth!
Let's keep it simple. From my experience there are a number of classic and contemporary methods to market your school or church. A number of these are free or relatively inexpensive.
The number one reliance is on the most important aspect of marketing - word of mouth. Yes - it's FREE. But does it come at a cost. If good it has usually developed over quite a period of time. If it is bad, it may literally be a few hours / days / weeks old! And worse, it may take years to repair!
Word of Mouth gives authority for the listener. People love stories, especially regarding their child's school or potential school, or how the local church is bringing in the flock.
Work very hard to build and maintain a very good reputation - word of mouth then espouses this...
Research, Preparation and Quality Implementation
School and church marketing now more than ever needs to be well researched, well prepared and very well implemented.
No one should settle for a hint and miss approach - hoping it will work. Just because it worked last year or was successfully used by another school or parish, etc. doesn't mean it is relevant or will necessarily work for yours.
Research the various options available for you. Be well read in the areas of school marketing for our digital age. Know how to prepare each of the chosen strategies. Implement the well prepared strategies in cost-effective and relevant ways so as that the quality implementation is seen by as many of the target audience as possible in ways which will appeal to them and have them react positively to your challenges.
AAA - Advertising Advantage for Administrators
The AAA is essential for all those marketing the school. The Advertising Advantage for Administrators is that it usually gets results - better reputation, better enrolments and an all-round more productive and successful school environment.
Advertising ranges from the free to expensive. It may be a free 'plug' in the school's or parish's newsletter / e-newsletter for an upcoming event or recent success story etc. through to an expensive television or internet campaign.
Know your audience and target the advertisments to that demographic.
Aim for value for money. Know your various types of advertisments from both the contemporary to the digital field. Select the most relevant and cost effective for your particular campaign / message and intended audience. No hit and misses - be prepared!!!

Photos! Photos! Photos!“A photo tells a thousand words”
GOOD PHOTOS ARE CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS!
Never has this saying been truer than when it comes to marketing the School.
The enjoyable moments, the successes, the socializing, the friendships, the games, the sport and the arts, the venue / school, the events, etc., are recorded for perpetuity.
The photos will be used in so many ways throughout the year.
These will also be a part of recorded history.
All the forms of marketing will use selections of these photos.
Sometimes videos or DVDs / CDs may be needed as well.
If this is done properly, there will more than likely be thousands of photos taken each year.
